How did you discover obé?

Through WW, I received an offer for a free three-month trial to obé. Within a couple weeks, I knew I wasn’t going back to the gym because I’d exercised so much more. I have permanent nerve damage and stability issues, so exercise is incredibly important for me. But because of work and obligations at home, I was locked into the 5am or 6am classes at the gym. I had never even really considered a home workout until obé!

What do you love about obé?

Since I joined obé, every single day I’ve logged in and exercised in some way—even if it’s a 10-minute stretch or a 10-minute meditation. It’s easy to fit it in—sometimes I’ll even do a 10-minute class in between Zoom calls—since I don’t have to get in the car and drive to the gym! I love ending the day with a 10-minute stretch class or meditation before I go to sleep.

And whenever I start the day with a 28-minute class, the entire day always seems to go better because I’ve done something for myself.

Fave instructors you’ve exercised with:

Walter K.: The Altar of Walter. Whenever I say I need to go downstairs and hang out with Walter, my husband knows exactly what I mean. Walter always seems to know what we need to hear.

Ana C.: She’s empowering and fun, and reminds you to keep your crown on and your chest up. You end up feeling like a boss in her classes, even if you modify.

Peter T.: He helped me discover how much fun it is just to move. He’s all about body positivity and gives me the chance to be sassy and spicy and fun.

Kathryn A. and Sarah G.: They’re like sunshine. You can’t take class with either of them and not feel positive and upbeat.

I also love all of the yoga teachers—FrancescaEveLulu.

Fave class types:

Dance HIIT + Dance Cardio. I love the stretching classes. Any of Walter’s Low Impact, High Intention classes.

That said, I have really given up on the “should’s.” If  today I feel like dancing and stretching—that’s what I’m going to do. If I feel like doing yoga sculpt or a sculpt + stretch class—that’s what I’m going to do. It all counts, and I’ve learned to tune into my body and what my body needs.

Why do you obé?

It’s fun. It’s a really good way to stay healthy, both physically and mentally. It’s a good way of taking care of myself so that I can take care of the other people I need to take care of.

It’s the community as well—the trainers engage with you on social media, which is amazing, so it doesn’t feel like just an online program. Peter Tucci and Walter Kemp are household names in my house—my family knows exactly what I’m talking about if I say, “Peter’s live in the box at 10am, so we’ll run errands at 11!”

Where have you exercised with obé?

Usually, I’m exercising in my basement—half of it is my home office and half is my home gym. I can’t finish my workday and go upstairs without turning my chair around and seeing my workout area, so I’ll typically do something, like a 10-minute foam roll class, before going upstairs and reentering the family world.
