Designed for any fitness level, Simply Strong is our longest strength training program to date (a full 6 weeks of training!). But don’t let that intimidate you: It’s really not a huge commitment. Just show up to three 30-minute classes per week, and grab some medium plus heavy dumbbells to get strong from head to toe.

Looking for motivation to get started? Here are 3 key reasons to give it a try, with insider intel from our Training + Programming Manager Melody D.

1. It’s super accessible.

“What I love most about Simply Strong is that it’s really designed for every single person,” Melody says. “You can be new to fitness, new to obé, ready for a different routine, or a strength fan looking to level up—it’s a fit for anyone.”

That’s because the training cadence is easier to adapt to busy schedules or your existing fitness routine. With just three weekly sessions, you get enough structure to see noticeable gains and flexibility to stick to your favorite hobbies and classes. On the days you’re not training, go for your favorite obé Cardio workout (any intensity works), or get outside for a hike, run, pickleball sesh—whatever!

You can even fit in one or two lighter-weight, higher-rep strength-based classes like Pilates, Barre, or Sculpt, Melody explains. “There’s much more wiggle room than in our other programs.”

Plus, it’s truly open level and a perfectly-paced introduction to strength training. Walter K., Izzi L., and Dorian C. (aka your Simply Strong coaches) are all pros at guiding newbies while cueing fun challenges for fans of strength.

2. You’re going to feel really strong.

Long story short: With two additional weeks of training, this program is super effective at building full-body strength you’ll (definitely) notice—so make sure to stick with it until the end.

“Simply Strong will seriously enhance your form and quality of movement,” Melody explains. “You’re going to squat deeper, lunge better, and feel more confident with each exercise as you progress.”

Why is it so good at delivering results? The program is split into two 3-week phases, which also makes it easier to stay committed. For the first 3 weeks, you’ll work on building your foundation, learning a set of classic functional movement exercises. Once phase two kicks off, you’ll progress to new, more advanced moves, plus focus on revving up power and lifting heavier. It’s resistance training, broken down step by step.

“Strength is the foundation of everything we do,” Melody emphasizes. “It’s how we keep our body healthy and moving in a smart, safe way. For me, it’s the most important thing you can be doing for yourself—and everyone can afford to improve.”

3. Strength training will set you up for long-term success.

This strength training program is a powerful tool to help you set a solid, sustainable routine. Making the commitment to yourself now will make it easier to keep moving year-round. (And yes, when it comes to forming workout habits that stick, training versus working out usually makes more of an impact.)

Put simply, it’s not about how much you can lift or how hard you can push yourself. At its core, Simply Strong is about showing up for yourself, building confidence, and supporting your body in everyday life so you can do more of what you want to do—and feel better doing it.

“I’m a mom, and I know there are other people out there that have kids on summer break, are traveling a lot, or just have a schedule that’s bananas,” says Melody. “Sometimes, sticking to a routine where you need to work out 5 or 6 times a week is just not realistic, and that’s where this program really shines. It’s more manageable when schedules get crazy, so you can still feel motivated and accomplished.”

Not to mention, you’ll be better equipped to try some of the more challenging obé training programs down the road (think: BodyComp or Gym Strong program), because you’re already going to be super strong.
